King and Queen Release Meanings
King and Queen County does not run a standalone adult jail. Local adults are normally booked into the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center, or MPRSC, in Saluda. A released King and Queen County inmate therefore drops off a regional list rather than a sheriff-hosted county roster. The agency that holds the useful exit record is usually MPRSC. Sheriff records may document the arrest and local process, while a court record supplies the legal basis for bond, dismissal, sentence, or another order.
Leaving the Saluda building does not always mean entering the community. A person may transfer to the Virginia Department of Corrections, another jail, a psychiatric hospital, federal custody, or immigration custody. Electronic incarceration and work release can also change where a person spends time without ending legal custody. The release transaction must be read with its disposition and destination. A name that simply vanishes from the current list answers none of those questions.
King and Queen Release Types
The release label points to the next record source. Bond ends physical pretrial detention but leaves the criminal case and bond terms active. Time served generally means the ordered confinement in that matter has been met, though another hold may remain. A dismissal resolves a charge, yet a second case or warrant can still block departure. Parole ends prison confinement under continued supervision. Probation may follow confinement or serve as the court-ordered community sentence.
| Exit type | What it means | Next place to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or court release | The person leaves pretrial custody under court terms. | MPRSC release record, court case, and local pretrial service |
| Time served or discharge | The applicable confinement term has ended. | Dated release document and sentencing court |
| Parole or probation | Physical custody ends while supervision continues. | VADOC locator and the correct supervising office |
| Transfer or detainer | One facility closes custody while another takes it. | Release destination plus the receiving agency locator |
| Electronic or work release | Custody continues in an approved community program. | MPRSC program record and court authorization |
- Discharge
- Completion of the sentence or supervision status addressed by the record.
- Detainer
- A request or authority that can send a person to another custodian instead of the community.
- Time served
- Credit or confinement that satisfies the ordered jail time in the named matter.
- Parole
- Release from prison with VADOC supervision under Parole Board authority.
King and Queen Release Record Fields
A strong King and Queen County release record ties a person to one custody episode. Ask for existing records, not a newly created report. Identity data can include the legal name, aliases, date of birth, booking number, and agency identifier. Episode data can show the admission date, facility, committing court, and charge or sentence. Exit data is the key part: actual release date and time, release type or disposition, releasing authority, and a receiving agency or destination when the person transferred.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name, birth date, booking number | Which person and booking episode the record concerns |
| Admission date and time | When the MPRSC custody episode began |
| Actual release date and time | When the facility processed the physical exit |
| Disposition or release type | Bond, time served, discharge, transfer, or another recorded result |
| Releasing authority | The court or agency behind the release transaction |
| Destination | Whether the person went to the community or another custodian |
| Booking photograph | A separate image that should be requested expressly |
The official MPRSC list displays Full Name, Age, Race, Sex, and Admit Date. It does not show a release date, release reason, rolling release window, or photograph. Its online retention is therefore current-population visibility, not a post-release archive. MPRSC has not published how long an internal release record or photo remains available on the pages reviewed.
Request King and Queen Release Records
The physical exit record for a King and Queen booking should go to the MPRSC FOIA officer. The facility lists Andrea Kinser, 170 Oakes Landing Road, Saluda, VA 23149, 804-758-2338 extension 253, fax 804-758-4295, and ahogge@mprsc.org. Requests may be made by mail, fax, email, phone, or in person. Written wording creates a clear trail, but Virginia law does not require a special form or the word “FOIA.”
- Identify the person by full name, birth date, booking number if known, and the approximate admission date.
- Ask for existing records showing admission and actual release date and time, disposition, releasing authority, and transfer destination.
- Request the booking photograph separately if it is needed, and ask for segregable nonexempt portions if some material is withheld.
- Ask for electronic copies and an advance cost estimate before the office incurs charges.
- Compare the response with the court case and any receiving-agency record before stating that the person entered the community.
MPRSC states an initial five-working-day response framework. A written practical-impossibility notice can add seven working days. The facility may charge actual costs, provide an estimate, and require a deposit when an estimate exceeds $200. It does not publish a flat photo fee or fixed retention term. County policy providing some qualifying requests of $12 or less at no charge cannot be imposed on MPRSC or VADOC.
The official MPRSC request page shows the records route used for a regional release.
That source is the direct path to the custodian rather than a commercial record page.
King and Queen Release Record Law
Virginia FOIA, Title 2.2 Chapter 37, presumes access to public records subject to statutory exclusions. Section 2.2-3704 governs requests, response time, costs, and estimates. Virginia agencies may require a requester’s name and legal address. Corrections, law-enforcement, juvenile, medical, victim, sealed, and supervision information can be limited. When material is withheld, ask for the cited exemption and the nonexempt portions that can be separated.
Virginia Code § 53.1-116 requires jailers to maintain an individual prisoner record, confinement terms, the cause of commitment, the date received, and a written earned-credit policy. That supports a focused request for the existing release entry and applicable credit policy. It does not make every field or photo automatically available online. Sealing and expungement can also remove an event from public search results. Absence after a lawful seal is not a sound reason to rebuild the record from an old third-party page.
Note: Virginia’s sealing statutes were changing in 2026, so use the live Code and the agency’s current response.
MPRSC Release Statistics Context
The FY2024 Virginia jail profile reports MPRSC capacity of 121, an average daily population of 141, 117% capacity use, and 51,764 housed days. Those figures describe the whole regional facility and all five member localities. They are not King and Queen County release totals. Housed days cannot be divided into a trustworthy number of releases because the report does not supply the needed county-level booking and exit data.
The same profile lists construction dates of 1973 and 1999 and no federal contract beds. That is useful facility context. It does not prove that a federal or immigration detainer can never affect a local detainee, nor does it turn a regional count into a county statistic.
King and Queen Custody Fees
MPRSC publishes unusually specific fees for alternative-custody programs. Electronic incarceration lists a $100 administration charge plus $25 per day. Work release lists a $100 administration charge plus $15 per day, while GPS tracking for work release is listed at $175 per week. A travel FDP charge is $7, and a replacement identification wristband is $25.
| Published MPRSC item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Electronic incarceration administration | $100 |
| Electronic incarceration | $25 per day |
| Work-release administration | $100 |
| Work release | $15 per day |
| GPS work-release tracking | $175 per week |
These are program and custody fees from the MPRSC fee page. The source does not establish a general post-release debt rule. A person leaving an electronic or work-release program should ask MPRSC for the account record rather than assume the fee list proves a final balance.
Find King and Queen Released Inmates
Start by identifying the custody lane. A local King and Queen arrest or short local sentence points to MPRSC. A state-responsible sentence points to VADOC. A federal sentence points to BOP, while a documented immigration transfer points to ICE. One person can move through several lanes, so results should form a timeline. Do not force one system to answer for another.
- Search the MPRSC Current Inmate Listing by exact and variant name.
- If the person appears, treat the result as current regional custody, not release.
- If absent, search the correct King and Queen court for bond, disposition, sentence, and orders.
- Check Virginia Jail VINE for the matching MPRSC event, then use VADOC if state authority or supervision may apply.
- Request MPRSC’s actual release date, time, disposition, authority, and destination.
- If the destination names another agency, continue with that agency’s official locator or records office.
The official current-list page is the correct first check for regional custody.
Its current-only label and loading warning show why a blank or missing entry must be followed by an actual release-record request.
Question: Why did a name disappear? The list may have closed the MPRSC custody event because of community release, transfer, hospital movement, another agency, death, escape, or a data correction. Only the exit record distinguishes those paths.
King and Queen VADOC Release Lookup
The official VADOC Inmate and Supervisee Locator covers people currently in VADOC custody or under VADOC supervision. It is not a permanent archive of every discharged person. Search with the first three letters of the first name and the full last name, or use the seven-digit DOC ID. Optional filters include location, race, gender, and age range. Accept the disclaimer, compare the DOC ID and personal details, and read the result label exactly.
| Search field | Use | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| First name | First three letters | Must be paired with the full last name |
| Last name | Full surname | Try lawful name variants when needed |
| DOC ID | Seven-digit identifier | Best match when known |
| Optional filters | Location, race, gender, age range | Use to narrow, not to replace identity matching |
A future field labeled “Release Date” is a computation that may change. It does not prove the person already left. Someone released from prison but still on parole or VADOC probation may remain visible as a supervisee. Once all state supervision ends, use VADOC’s inactive-offender request form, dated release documents, and the sentencing court. The locator says data updates daily but may be inaccurate or out of date.
The official VADOC locator shows the statewide search fields and covered population.
The screen belongs in the state custody lane, not as a substitute for the MPRSC release transaction.
King and Queen Recent Release Limits
No official MPRSC or King and Queen 24-hour, 72-hour, or recent-release archive was documented in the official navigation and targeted research reviewed on August 8, 2026. The current list shows people still displayed in the regional population. It has no exit date, release reason, photograph, or published refresh cadence. There is also no documented MPRSC release or mugshot app.
Use the King and Queen County 24-Hour Release List fallback when the question concerns today’s releases. It leads with the MPRSC record request, court trail, VINE event, and custody-lane checks because no official same-day feed exists. A browser may also block the HTTP roster application embedded in MPRSC’s HTTPS page. Open the official new-window link if the grid looks blank. A technical failure is not release evidence.
King and Queen Release Transportation
MPRSC is in rural Saluda, outside King and Queen County. Bay Transit serves both King and Queen and Middlesex through demand-response service. Its information lists weekday service from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., a scheduling line at 877-869-6046, and encourages requests at least 24 hours ahead. No official source promises a jail-gate stop, walk-up ride, or discharge shuttle.
Coordinate the expected release with MPRSC before arranging transportation. Then confirm the pickup details with Bay Transit or another planned driver. Release processing can move, and a transfer record may mean there is no community pickup at all. The destination field should control the travel plan.
King and Queen Bond Release Supervision
Middle Peninsula Local Probation and Pretrial Services assesses defendants booked at MPRSC and supervises eligible defendants released on bond while their cases remain pending. Its regional role is separate from VADOC post-conviction parole and probation. A bond release can therefore place a King and Queen defendant under local pretrial supervision even though the person has not been convicted or completed a sentence.
The local probation and pretrial office lists sites in Gloucester and Tappahannock and weekday hours. Use the court record for the bond order, MPRSC for the actual exit, and local pretrial staff for appropriate supervision routing. These records answer different parts of the same event.
King and Queen Reentry History
A federal Pathway Home 3 project sheet historically identified MPRSC as a mandatory partner and included King and Queen in the service area. A November 2023 MPRSC board record later referred to a program update. That creates a real regional reentry history, but it does not establish guaranteed current enrollment or services in August 2026.
Ask MPRSC or the relevant supervision office about present referrals. Post-release supervision details and the difference between local and state offices are covered on the King and Queen County parole and probation page. A dated grant document should never be presented as a promise that a current slot exists.
King and Queen Release Property
MPRSC has a specific property procedure. An incarcerated person may name someone to collect identified property. The collector must show identification and sign during the published lobby hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After a transfer to another jail, psychiatric hospital, DOC, or another named destination, the person completes a Disposition of Personal Property form.
The named collector is contacted and has 30 days. Property left after that period may be destroyed under policy. This is a transfer process and should not be described as the standard final-release procedure without confirmation. VADOC has a separate facility-release process for returning personal property and may provide a receipt for a document envelope containing identity or certification records.
Note: Confirm the custody disposition before using the transfer-property timetable for a King and Queen County release.
King and Queen Release Court Trail
The local court trail is split among General District, Circuit, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations courts. The Virginia court case portal is the public online starting point. General District handles misdemeanors, traffic matters, and preliminary felony stages. Circuit Court supplies felony and final circuit dispositions. Court results may show bond action, sentence, dismissal, probation, and orders, but they may not state the exact jail-door exit time.
Circuit Court says signed orders are mailed to counsel and self-represented parties within five business days. The J&DR clerk’s main office is in neighboring King William, while its King and Queen courthouse office has limited published days. That timing and geography can explain why a new order is not yet in hand. Juvenile and confidential records must not be treated like open adult files.
Question: Does a dismissal prove immediate release? No. Another charge, warrant, detainer, or processing delay can continue custody. Pair the court result with MPRSC’s exit record.
King and Queen Federal Releases
The BOP Inmate Locator is for federal custody, not an ordinary King and Queen arrest. Search by federal number or by name with optional descriptors. A past release date with the official location label “RELEASED” means BOP custody ended. It does not prove that federal supervision, an immigration hold, state custody, or local custody also ended.
An MPRSC record naming ICE is a transfer, not community release. The ICE Online Detainee Locator accepts an A-number with country of birth or a biographical search, but a missing result is not conclusive. Recent intake, age, name variation, and display limits can affect results. A USMS destination likewise points to a federal prisoner movement; the federal court and BOP record must supply the next steps.
King and Queen Release Channels
Each official system answers a narrow question. Use the current roster to test present regional custody, the MPRSC record for the actual local exit, the court for legal authority, and VADOC for state custody or supervision. Virginia Jail VINE can provide a timely custody-change event, but its alert is not the originating certified release record. NAAVI is a separate state-custody notification channel and does not automatically continue a local VINE registration.
| Channel | Best use | What it cannot prove alone |
|---|---|---|
| MPRSC current list | Current regional display | Why a missing person left |
| MPRSC release record | Local date, time, type, and destination | Later status in another agency |
| Virginia courts | Bond, disposition, sentence, and orders | Exact physical exit time or every other hold |
| VADOC locator and records | Current state custody or supervision | Permanent history for a fully discharged person |
| VINE or NAAVI | Custody-event notification in the correct lane | Certified disposition or automatic cross-system coverage |
| BOP or ICE | Federal or immigration custody lane | MPRSC release or all continuing legal status |
King and Queen Custody Systems
Six facility or agency pages reflect the actual King and Queen release chain. MPRSC is the regional adult jail and primary local release-record custodian. The Sheriff’s Office holds sheriff-created arrest and process records but does not operate the adult jail. VADOC handles state custody, discharge records, and post-conviction supervision, while District 5 in Gloucester is the regional state supervision office.
- Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center, the regional adult jail and direct local release-record source
- King and Queen County Sheriff’s Office, the local arrest and law-enforcement records office
- Virginia Department of Corrections, the statewide prison and supervision system
- VADOC Probation & Parole District 5 – Gloucester, the state post-conviction supervision office
- Federal Bureau of Prisons, used only for the federal sentence lane
- ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, used after a documented or suspected immigration transfer
