Virginia Jail VINE through VINELink is the relevant notification lane for a person held at Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center. King and Queen County does not operate its own adult jail. MPRSC in Saluda holds local adult detainees for the county, so a search must be tied to that reporting facility when the live result offers a facility choice. VINELink says participating agencies supply its data. A result may concern a person in custody or recently released, but the service gives no universal length of time for keeping a released record visible.
The key task is to read the status as shown. A custody-exit event means the reporting jail no longer shows that custody episode as active. It does not prove acquittal, sentence completion, or release to the community. MPRSC can also send a person to VADOC, another jail, a psychiatric hospital, or another agency. - Compare age, booking data, and reporting facility. Do not select a common-name match on name alone.

- If no record returns, call MPRSC at 804-758-2338 and ask about the specific custody episode.
A result tied to a King and Queen arrest may still name MPRSC or Saluda because the jail is regional and sits outside the county. That location is expected. A state-responsible person temporarily held there may also move to a VADOC institution without ever entering the community.

- Choose among the delivery methods actually offered and enter the requested contact details.
- Select the preferred language if the registration screen provides that choice.
- Create the requested four-digit PIN. A verified account may use a universal PIN.
- For a phone or TTY call, hear the full message, then enter the four-digit PIN followed by the pound sign.
- Save the registration and keep the PIN. Unanswered calls may repeat during the jurisdiction's retry period.
- After an alert, ask MPRSC for the actual release date, time, type, and transfer destination, if any.

King and Queen NAAVI Handoff
Virginia draws a firm line between local and state custody notifications. NAAVI, Notification and Assistance for Victim Inclusion, handles eligible VADOC state-custody notices. VADOC says NAAVI is not connected to local-jail VINE. A local registration must not be promised to carry forward when MPRSC transfers a person into state authority.
The handoff can explain two apparently different records. Local VINE may report the end of the MPRSC event while the VADOC Inmate and Supervisee Locator shows an institution or other state location. Both can be correct. The person left the regional jail, but state custody continued. Eligible NAAVI registrants may receive completed-transfer, anticipated-release, changed anticipated-release, actual-release, work-release, escape, recapture, death, or legal-name-change notices. Advance release is usually an anticipated event, not proof of departure. Actual release ends VADOC custody notices.

The split means King and Queen County searches must follow the custodian, not rely on one alert registration for every stage. Reconcile King and Queen Alerts
A custody timeline can contain several valid events. Suppose local VINE reports that the MPRSC custody event ended, while the VADOC locator shows an institution. The likely reading is a transfer into state authority, not community release. Ask MPRSC for the exit disposition and receiving agency, then match the name and identifier to the VADOC record. If the locator later shows District 5 or another community-supervision location, physical prison custody may have ended while supervision continued.
The date labels also need to stay separate. An MPRSC admission date is not a release date. A court order date may authorize release but precede the physical event. A future VADOC Release Date is computed. A NAAVI anticipated-release notice is advance information and can be revised. A local VINE custody-status date belongs to the facility-reported event. The actual jail or prison exit date comes from the transaction, release letter, or signed order after processing.
When sources seem to disagree, record the agency, exact status phrase, date label, and identifier from each result. Then compare the custody lanes in sequence. If local VINE closes while VADOC opens, the two records may describe a handoff. If a court shows bond granted while MPRSC still lists the person, bond may not have been posted, another hold may exist, or processing may still be underway. The facility remains the source for current physical custody.

King and Queen VINELink Limits
VINELink does not replace the originating record. Participating agencies provide the data, updates can lag, and a recent release may not remain searchable for a fixed period. If no result appears, VINELink directs the user back to the facility where custody was believed to occur. For MPRSC, request existing records sufficient to show admission, actual release date and time, release type, releasing authority, and any receiving agency.
Federal custody has a separate lane. Neither local VINE nor NAAVI is a BOP historical locator. Use the official BOP tool for a federal sentence and ICE's locator when a documented transfer points to immigration custody. A local status change does not settle either system. Court records can explain bond, dismissal, sentence, or an order, but they may not show the exact physical exit time or another hold.
